Dealing with The Rumors

Chansel wasted no time after he saw the rumors about himself on the news portal. His first priority was to find July. Though he wasn’t sure if she had seen the news yet, her well-being was of the utmost importance to him.

If she saw the news, July would be devastated. She hated infidelity, and now there were salacious rumors circulating in the media. To make matters worse, they even called July the one who stole someone else’s future spouse.

Chansel could only imagine how shocked and hurt she was. When he arrived at her apartment, July was indeed unwell. July’s confidence was already low. He was afraid that July would be even more devastated by the scandalous news.

Chansel stroked July’s head again and kissed her. She had fallen into a deep sleep; her eyes were swollen and her cheeks flushed. He let her rest in his embrace and surrendered to the exhaustion that engulfed her.

For the last few minutes, since July had fallen asleep, Chansel had been watching over her. He observed every detail. Before he finally rose, he planted kisses on her forehead and the top of her head.

“Sleep well, my love. I hope when you wake up, all this trouble will be over. I hope you’ll think it was just a bad dream,” he whispered as he kissed July’s forehead again. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything.”

Before he left, Chansel borrowed July’s cell phone to call Becca. He told the photographer to stay with July for him. He was afraid that she would be lonely and sad when she woke up. Chansel then left while he contacted his attorney and requested an emergency meeting.

Chansel went to his lawyer’s office. He doesn’t wait for the man to come to his office because of the urgency of the situation. His attorney, Mr. Johnson, greeted him with a firm handshake and a compassionate smile.

“I explained the situation to you over the phone. So I assume you already know the problem, Mr. Johnson,” Chansel said as he sat down on the sofa.

Chansel had called his lawyer and explained the situation along the way. He did it because he didn’t want to waste more time. Every second wasted would only allow these negative rumors to spread further.

“Mr. Jadwin, I’ve read the news that’s been circulating. I understand how serious this situation is,” Mr. Johnson began. “The rumors and accusations are damaging and unfounded, but we can use the legal process to deal with them. First, we need to gather evidence to prove that the allegations are false and malicious.

“Okay. Then what can we do?”

Mr. Johnson sat back in his chair. He seemed to consider the best course of action. “Our first step will be a thorough investigation of the source of these rumors. We need to find out who the source of the rumors is and what their motives are. Once we have that information, we can build a libel case and prosecute the culprits.”

Chansel listened. He realized the importance of a strategic approach.
